About Speaker Jon Taffer
Business mogul and event speaker Jon Taffer can sure command a room! This guy tops the list as one of the most dynamic and exciting businessmen on the speaking circuit. He is well known for his success in the food and beverage industry and subsequent TV show Bar Rescue. Jon’s experiences as an innovator, entrepreneur and TV personality combine to provide keynotes and moderated Q&A’s that address universal topics in life and business. His most requested speaking topics including transformation, company culture and reaction management. The latter is a term Jon coined to describe how controlling the reactions around you can protect and improve your future.
Jon is one of six inductees into the Nightclub Hall of Fame. He got his first taste of nightlife as a bartender and drummer in a local band in California. His first job as bar manager came in the late 70’s at the iconic nightclub The Troubadour in West Hollywood. In 1989, Jon opened his first bar and never looked back. His rolodex of consulting clients in the hospitality and entertainment industry is astounding. His client list includes most major hotel companies including Marriott, Ritz-Carlton and Hyatt in addition to working with food and beverage giants such as Buffalo Wild Wings, TGI Fridays and Anheuser-Bush.
In addition to his work was a consultant, Jon has been a player in other business ventures as well. During his time on the board of NFL Enterprises, he was the mastermind behind the NFL Sunday Ticket concept. In 2014, Jon introduced a bar and nightclub management app called BarHQ.
Jon first appeared on the SpikeTV show Bar Rescue in 2011. The show has aired over 196 episodes in 6 seasons. Not only did the show catapult his celebrity appeal, Jon was also able to gain a new perspective on small business challenges and realities. He has experience working with companies at the global level all the way down to local bar owners. Thus, he has the ability to provide relevant insights to a variety of different audiences. Jon fits in well with audiences at company conferences and expos as well as fundraisers, internal meetings and university speaker series.
Finally, Jon has compiled several of his business strategies into two books. Firstly, Raise the Bar hit shelves in 2013.
