About Speaker Roy Jones Jr.
Motivational Speaker Roy Jones Jr. is more than just one of the greatest boxers of all time. He’s a father, believer, mentor and role model to many inside and outside the ring. Today, he continues to train as well as serve as a brand ambassador, keynote speaker and boxing trainer in Florida. His motivational story teaches audiences impactful lessons in perseverance, discipline and maximizing your full potential in life.
Roy’s Hall of Fame boxing career spans 4 decades from the early 80’s to the present. He is one of only two boxers to win a Middle, Light Heavy and Heavyweight championship. As a result, many see him as the best pound-for-pound fighter ever. In November 2020, he went toe-to-toe with Mike Tyson in an exhibition match. The fight went the full 8 rounds and ended in a draw.
A pivotal moment came early in his boxing career at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea. Roy won a Silver Medal after a controversial ending to the Gold Medal fight against South Korea’s Park Si-Hun. He controlled the fight, landing almost three times as many punches as Park. Yet he lost in a split decision which is now one of the most controversial moments in boxing history. Roy chose to use this moment as motivation, and would go on to dominate the boxing world for many years to come.
Roy’s influence expands far beyond the boxing world in part due to his huge heart for others. He enjoys training the next generation of fighters and passing down career advice.
