About Speaker Eli Manning
Newly retired Eli Manning is scoring big on stage as a motivational keynote speaker. 2 Super Bowl rings. 2 Super Bowl MVPs. Unbelievable comebacks, the helmet catch and 16 years with the New York Giants. Eli takes audiences inside the huddle of these memorable moments and the lessons he learned in preparation, collaboration, leadership and family.
The last name Manning is synonymous with football. Like his father and brother before him, Eli has lived up to the hype. In college, he set a number of SEC records and led Ole Miss to a Cotton Bowl victory as a senior. Not only that, he graduated with a degree in marketing and was rewarded with several Scholar-Athlete Awards.
Eli was drafted #1 overall in the 2004 NFL Draft to the New York Giants via trade with the San Diego Chargers. He would spend the next 16 years as the team’s franchise quarterback. He led the Giants to the first of two memorable Super Bowl victories in 2007 with a clutch win over the New England Patriots. Down 14-10 with 2:39 left, Eli led a valiant game winning drive that included David Tyree’s helmet catch to keep the drive alive.
Perhaps his defining Hall of Fame moment came in 2011 when the team finished the season at 9-7. They won the NFC East division but went into the playoffs huge underdogs. No one expected them to get out of the first round. Eli didn’t care. He dazzled fans setting franchise records and leading the team to an intense OT victory in the NFC Championship Game over the San Francisco 49ers. Finally, he once again defeated the Patriots to earn his 2nd Super Bowl title and Super Bowl MVP. Eli’s Giants were the first team with less than 10 wins to win a Super Bowl. What’s more, Eli was the first quarterback in NFL history to throw for over 4,900 yards and win a Super Bowl in the same season.
Outside of football, Eli is a also an accomplished celebrity spokesperson. His list of partnerships includes Citizen Watches, NFLShop and Oreo’s. Most recently, Eli appeared alongside Peyton in a Super Bowl ad for EA Sports.
Eli is quick to credit his family for preparing him for the challenges of college and NFL superstardom. That also includes life outside of football. Eli is especially complimentary of his brother Peyton who showed him the ropes. Many pit the two brothers against each other. In reality, their relationship is quite the opposite. Eli talks about the example Peyton set for him as well as how involved Peyton was in his growth as a player and leader on the field. The two regularly book speaking appearances together to provide a more comprehensive discussion about their combined careers and success strategies.
