About Speaker Beth Comstock
Beth Comstock is a boss lady in business. She was a catalyst for change and innovation at GE for several decades and is now a highly sought-after business speaker. She uses her excellent abilities as a storyteller to help companies seek out new ideas, navigate change and transform through creativity and innovation. Beth currently sits on the Board of Directors at Nike in addition to serving as Trustee of The National Geographic Society. When she is not speaking or writing, she also works as an advisor for startups.
Beth’s resume and accomplishments are pretty remarkable on paper. She was first named CMO of GE in 2003. Over the next 25 years, she built GE Business Innovations and GE Ventures to accelerate new growth for the company. She saw GE through a challenging period of change by overhauling company culture and opening up new possibilities in the digital and clean energy space. Additionally, she was the first woman ever to hold the position of Vice Chair at GE. Outlets such as Forbes and Fortune have tapped her in their lists as one of The World’s Most Powerful Women.
But that’s not all! Beth also worked as the President of Integrated Media at NBC Universal. While there, she oversaw advertising and marketing efforts including new digital innovations. For example, Beth was influential in the planning and execution of Hulu which is now one of the most popular streaming services available. In the fall of 2018, Beth released her first book titled Imagine It Forward: Courage, Creativity and the Power of Change.
Beth’s keynote message is universal. Change starts with you. You have to be willing to put aside your fears and the expectations of others. Unleash your curiosity! Likewise, managers and executives need to create an environment that promotes exploration. See the future before others can and take steps to make it real. You have to imagine it forward.
