About Speaker Andrew Yang
Andrew Yang is a man with a vision. A vision to empower American families, put humanity first, and use his influence to leave the world a better place than when he found it. He attacks issues with an emphasis on numbers, data and facts. Although his campaign for President of the United States came up short in 2020, Andrew continues to help America rethink the way we tackle social and political issues.
Andrew is a corporate lawyer by trade. Yet he found his true purpose during the 2000’s as a startup co-founder and advisor. He worked with friends on several non-profit startups and served as the President and CEO of the test prep company Manhattan Prep from 2005-2012. Andrew has also shared that he taught analyst classes for major companies like JPMorgan and Goldman Sachs during the 2008 financial crisis.
In 2011, he founded Venture for America. The purpose of this non-profit is to enable entrepreneurs to create economic growth through new startups and job opportunities. Venture for America was vital to many cities across the U.S. who struggled following the Great Recession. In March of 2020, Andrew launched a new non-profit called Humanity Forward to further his ideas including a universal base income and data as a property right.
Notice a pattern? Since leaving his law career behind, Andrew is on a mission to help people in whatever capacity presents itself.
Andrew is the author of 2 bestselling books. Smart People Should Build Things (2014) and The War on Normal People in 2018. He now serves as a CNN contributor and the host of his own podcast, Yang Speaks. His message is perfect for the current workforce as well as the next generation. He has spoken at a number of college and universities in addition to corporate events and business conferences.
